  • September 27, 2017 - SCAM ALERT – Employment Offer Letter
SCAM ALERT:  It has been brought to our attention that someone is disseminating false employment offer letters using the logo of Regency Hospital Company (RHC) as part of a scam.  The scam ultimately targets victims, who are tricked into believing they have secured a new job, to pay money to the scammer.  The victims end up with no job and no recourse to recover their money.   Needless to say, we are not involved in the scam nor are we able to prevent it from occurring.  Please be aware that RHC does not issue employment offer letters to anyone who has not completed a hiring process that involves in-person interviews with RHC employees at a RHC location.
May 19, 2017 - Regency Minneapolis Earns Three Designations

Regency Hospital of Minneapolis recently received the Pulmonary Center of Excellence (PCOE), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Stroke Center designations from its parent company, Select Medical. These awards are exclusive to facilities in the Select Medical family of hospitals.

“Here at Select, we feel a very real responsibility to provide the best possible care for our patients,” said Dr. Samuel Hammerman, MD, MMM, CPE, FCCP, Chief Medical Officer for Select Medical. “We already maintain very high standards for ourselves, often well above national benchmarks. However, this designation means a hospital has met even more rigorous protocols to take it to the next level of care.”

The PCOE, TBI and Stroke Center designations are awarded to hospitals that demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of ventilator weaning and patient mobility, along with specialized clinical experience that incorporates treatment and care processes designed to meet the unique needs of patients with acute neurological needs.

“Our goal is simple – maximize a patient’s level of function while decreasing or eliminating the need for mechanical ventilation,” said Gloria Skinner, MSN, RN, Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer for Select Medical. “Our hospitals already do this well, but the new designation means a hospital has gone above and beyond to achieve the highest discharge-to-home rate possible. This should return even more patients to a high-quality, productive life.”

The hospital also consistently receives an average 4.1 out of 5 star rating on patient satisfaction surveys. The survey, administered at discharge, contains 25 questions that ask patients to rate their hospital experience upon discharge, including nursing care, responsiveness of staff, environmental conditions such as cleanliness and quietness, communication and discharge planning. Completed surveys are sent to two third-party providers for the aggregation and analysis of such survey results and patient comments to ensure confidentiality of all responses.

The Regency Minneapolis care team is comprised of pulmonologists, respiratory therapists, nurses, speech therapists, physical therapists, dieticians and other specialists, all trained in caring for the medically complex patient. The 66 all private bed long-term acute care hospital is located in Golden Valley.

Select Medical is one of the nation's largest providers of specialized care. Select Medical’s more than 40,000 employees operate or support more than 100 hospitals specializing in long-term acute care, 19 inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and nearly 1,500 outpatient centers offering physical and occupational therapy and/or occupational medicine. October 09, 2013 - Regency Hospital Minneapolis Upgrades Ventilators

Regency Hospital of Minneapolis recently replaced our entire ventilator fleet with all new Puritan-Bennett 840 ventilators. The move will benefit our patients with increased safety and effective ventilator patient care.

Our new ventilators offer advanced software that analyzes each breath, allowing for better synchronization and improved patient comfort. The new ventilators contain four hour batteries that allow staff to move patients easily or take them on walks, providing consistent ventilation without interruption, ultimately improving the patient experience.

The new vents also use high efficiency filters, protecting the patient, family, visitors and health care providers and include advanced alarms  that cover a broad array of patient alarm conditions, alerting staff of potential pulmonary complications.
